CISAC organized the 22nd CIS Sessions in Kuala Lumpur with over 80 representatives from 36 societies.
Common Information System (CIS) is a set of common technical tools and standards to facilitate the exchange of information about works and their usage between right holders with societies and between societies and other third parties such as broadcasters, digital service providers and record companies.
The participants discussed on the developments of CIS to help ensure royalties are efficiently distributed back to the creators. CIS Sessions are held twice a year and included workshops on Global Repertorie Database (GRD), Digital Data Exchange (DDex), Common Works Registration Format (CWR), International Standard Name Identifier (ISNI) and International Standard Music Work Codes (ISWC).
MACP hosted a dinner reception for the delegates on 25 September. The CIS Sessions was last held in Kuala Lumpur in 2008.
