MACP’s annual dinner & awards presentation was successfully held on 24 November 2013 (Sunday), at the Hotel Royale Bintang Damansara, Petaling Jaya. YB Dato’ Sri Shabery Cheek, Minister of Multimedia and Communication was the Guest of Honour.
In the Welcome Address by Pn Habsah Hassan, MACP Chairperson, she took the opportunity to present 3 requests for YB Dato’ Sri consideration. The requests were to increase the royalty fee for the use of music by RTM and other Government agencies and Ministries; to increase the use of local music in RTM and to provide job opportunities to MACP and KOPSTAR members in music scoring, compositions, production of TV programs, supply of sound and light equipment.
The Minister agreed to consider these requests favourable and also made a surprise announcement a RM10,000 contribution towards the dinner.
WARIS opened the show with his hit “Rembau Most Wanted”. The other performers were Ayu OIAM, Kaka & RJ, Mojo Band, Gowri & Harikumar and Wu Jia Hui performed at the event. Nassier Wahab, Nora & Fairuz Hussein performed a medley of Adnan Abu Hassan’s hits in the tribute segment for this year’s Nadi Cipta recipient.
Datuk Ramli Sarip, Najwa Latiff, Dahlan Zainuddin, Effa Rizan, Edry KRU, Fida Ibrahim, Audi Mok and Farhan AF were amongst the presenters that evening.
