In a historic occasion, MACP celebrated its 25th anniversary at the Royale Chulan, Damansara Hotel on 23 November 2014. This year’s event witnessed a memorable and meaningful celebration, in addition to MACP’s usual annual dinner and award show.

The welcoming address was delivered by En. Ahmad Izham bin Omar, MACP Vice Chairman, on behalf of Pn. Habsah Hassan. The speech highlighted the humble beginnings of MACP, its journey, activities and achievements over the years, as well as current challenges and aspirations moving forward.

The night began with a show of appreciation to licensees and MACP agent that have supported MACP since its inception. Recipients of the special appreciation awards to licensees were Pos Ad Sdn Bhd, Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH), Persatuan Pengurusan Kompleks Malaysia (PPK), Malaysia Retailers Association (MRA), Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS), Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM), Sistem Televisyen Malaysia Berhad (TV3), Yamaha Music (M) Sdn Bhd, The Hot Shoe Show & Co. Sdn Bhd, whilst the special award for long-time serving MACP agent was given to Addax Management Services.

Among the guests of honor invited to present the awards to the winners, include founding Chairman & Vice Chairman of MACP, Dato Freddie Fernandez and Mrs Beh Suat Pheng and founding members Mr. Eric Yeo and Mr. Michael John Veerapan.

Highlights of the night included a special video titled “MACP 25 Years” with performances by One Nation Emcees. Other artistes who performed that evening were Yuna, Akim – the Most Promising Young Composer award recipient, Fuying & Sam who performed the Most Performed Chinese Song “Fen Kai Yi Hou” and evergreen singer Salamiah Hassan. Aris Ariwatan and Dato Siti Nurhaliza performed some of Saari Amri’s biggest hits as a special tribute to this year’s Nadi Cipta recipient. The evening ended with DJ Fuzz, Waris, Iwere, Altimet and Joe Flizzow entertaining the audience with their current hits!
