INFRINGEMENT
Simply put, using someone’s music without permission is a violation of the intellectual property rights and it is called copyright infringement. This is similar to using someone’s property without consent. Doing this with music may get you in trouble with the law, leading to fines or even imprisonment (or both!) under the Copyright Act 1987. So, it’s best to do it right and make sure you have a valid MACPLicence before playing copyrighted music.
Depending on your usage, you might require additional licences to cover other rights administered by different CMOs. View other CMOs.
