This song competition is organized by KOPSTAR (Industry Music Malaysia Cooperative Berhad) with RTM. KOPSTAR was set up by members of MACP in April 2009. This song competition offers a total of RM100,000 cash prize with RM40,000 for the first prize winner.

It is open to all Malaysians, both amateur and professional of all ages. Entrants are free to submit any number of new song compositions in any language spoken in Malaysia. Judging will be based on the song melody and the final 8 best entries will be translated to Bahasa Malaysia without amending the original melody for the finals which will be broadcast live over RTM in September.
